'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

It's obvious why Arsenal have become numerous fans' favorites to secure the Premier League this season.

Examine their performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace in contrast with those identical matches last season.

The Gunners have overcome all of them during this campaign, but lost 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race previously.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a key reason why they are seeming ready to at last realize their title target.

They stand first for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), opposition efforts (72), quality opportunities against (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The defensive partnership of Gabriel and William Saliba is potentially the strongest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Dominance

Their threat from set-pieces is highly documented, but competing clubs still don't know how to neutralize the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just wary of them and it is great to see."

Title Claims

What is especially notable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City on home turf - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they maintain victories, their traditional rivals aren't faring so well. This marks the first time at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having invested around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in pursuit of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far yielded results in style, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and having the tightest defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and analysts have described Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now functioning with confidence and purpose.
